During December and January, the mayor's office facilitated negotiations among representatives or the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center Project, Heritage and the Friends of 1800 Market Street. As a result of an agreement reached on January 8, the Community Center board voted on January 21 to direct its design team to reconsider the scope of work needed to preserve the historic Fallon Building, while allowing changes necessary to meet programmatic needs for the Community Center.
The Board also agreed to engage a preservation architect to participate in that review. They selected Page & Turnbull.
All parties further agreed to request that the Landmarks Board continue the landmark nomination for 1800 Market to its first meeting in March.
